Enable SMTP Authentication in Microsoft 365
1. Go to Microsoft Admin Center, click on the hamburger menu on the left, and then select “Active Users” option.
2. Click on the user where you want to send the email from.
3. In the flyout, select the “Mail” tab, then select “Manage email apps”.
4. In the “Manage email apps” panel that appears, select the checkbox next to “Authenticated SMTP”, then click “Save changes".
Configure email service in VertexGraph
1. In the VertexGraph admin console, select the user avatar on the top right, then select “Settings”.
2. Click on “Configure” under “Email Service”.
3. In the dropdown, select “SMTP”, then click “Continue”.
4. For SMTP server address, put smtp.office365.com.
5. Turn on the toggle for “Use SSL”.
6. Enter the “From Field” with the email address of the mailbox, and turn on “Always use defined ‘from’ field”
7. Enter the email and the corresponding password for the mailbox you want to use.
8. Click “Apply”.
Testing the Office 365 SMTP email service
1. Now, suppose a user jwilliamson@anglechase.com shares a file with a second user rperez@anglechase.com.
2. Then the recipient will see an email from the johns@anglechase.com email that we have configured in the SMTP setting.
